Wednesday July 21st

On Wednesday July 21st TODAY we will meet at 6:45 at Reality Check and we will divide into groups to go throughout the town and do “Random Acts of Kindness”.  We will all return to the teen center at approx. 7:50 and after we have all gathered back together we will go to the M.L. pool for Bethany’s birthday party.  This is not an official Reality Check event, but she invited everyone at Reality Check so I am making everyone aware of it.  If you have any questions then you can either try Wikipedia or you can give me a call.  I am not sure which one will have more information.  Maybe it would be best to call Bethany about the pool party.

So, bring your swimming suits next WednesdayTODAY!

P.S. I have been asked if the Reality Check rules about swimming suits apply.  I would say that this is not a Reality Check event so I do not think so.  BUT, I think the rules set up at Reality Check are not bad guidelines no matter where we are.  By dressing modestly we keep others from slipping into lust and by dressing modestly people do not have to worry about being skinny or good looking or etc.  So maybe it would be best to ask Bethany.

TONIGHT – 6:45 at Reality Check

Tags: , ,

Tonight we will continue our summer theme “Beyond The Yearbook”.  If you have not been able to come and be a part of this series I hope you can make it tonight.  This lesson series is one that we did over six years ago and it was sooooo good that we are doing it again.  It doesn’t matter if you are short or tall, smart or dumb, athletic or clumsy, public schooled or home schooled, if you love God or don’t believe in God or if you drive a Ford or Chevy.  If you are a teenager - you are invited tonight to Reality Check at 6:45.

DIGGIN’ DEEPER – at 8:30 we will have Diggin’ Deepr and we will look at a few scriptures as we dicuss two questions that have been talked about this week.

I Don’t Decide If God Exists!

Tags: ,

Until I was in college the main things I read were pictures.  You know, like the pictures in Motor Trend or Car and Driver.  I would read the pictures in a lot of car magazines and I could read them fast.  If the pictures were really good then I might even read the article that was beside them.  I never saw it coming – so it surprised me just as much as it surprised my friends – I started to read books.  That is right.  I read books that did not even have pictures.

The book I am reading right now is called “The Faith” by Charles Colson and Harold Fickett.  I am only on chapter two, but I am loving it.  For some crazy reason I like to read Non-Fiction books and especially ones that are about defending the Christian faith.  I know what I believe and I want others to believe along with me that Jesus came to the earth and lived a sinless life and then died on a cross so that I could be forgiven and that He ROSE FROM THE DEAD!  I read these books so that I can explain how being a Christian is both logical and practical.

I just wanted to let you know that God exists and it does not matter if you or I believe it or not.  I hope that you will check out a good book about Christianity and check into why you believe what you do.  If you are not a believer in God then maybe you will see new and amazing facts.  If you are already a Christian it will encourage you and help you to be able to explain to others what you believe.  I hope you will come to enjoy reading a good book like I do.  Most of all I hope you come to enjoy the Bible as you read about the love God has for you.

Random Acts of Kindness

TONIGHT – Wednesday July 7th at 6:45 we will be doing “Random Acts of Kindness” around Medicine Lodge.  As a part of our summer theme, Beyond The Yearbook, we will be living a life that is beyond our own desire to be loved and to fit in.  We will be going around the area and delivering meals, drinks, mowing yards, cooking meals, visiting and other randomness.  We will be thinking about more than our own here and now – we will be thinking about others and eternity.  I hope you will join us!
